On Tuesday, Year 5 went on their trip to the Watercress Line.
The sun shone and it was a fantastic day, many of the children had not been on a train (let alone a steam train) before.
The children visited the bridge that used to be at Kings Cross and was filmed in the Harry Potter films. They then boarded the train at Ropley and travelled up and down the line to Medstead and Alresford where we ate our lunches.
Back at Ropley the children were given a challenge to build model bridges before going around the engine yard.
Five of our Year 5 pupils have today received training from the Hampshire Police Commissioner's Team and are now officially appointed as Cyber Ambassadors for Newlands School.

These children will now help deliver sessions across Key Stage 2 to support the safe use of the Internet. They will also be available as a person that peers can talk to if they are concerned about anything that they see online. (However, they will not be responsible for dealing with safeguarding issues).
The day was shared with pupils from Holy Family School who were also receiving the training.
Year R have been excitedly awaiting the birth of baby chicks and it looks like it's started!
