Each class in Key Stage 2 has a Global Ambassador.  Year 6 have elected an additional Global Ambassador, who represents the views of Key Stage 1 children. Our Global Ambassadors are role models for Global Citizenship within the school.  They meet regularly with Mrs Jones (our Global Citizenship Leader) to discuss how we promote Global Citizenship within the school.

Sanctuary Area - watch this space!

This year the Global Ambassadors have decided to relaunch the Lunchtime 'Quiet Area' as the 'Sanctuary Area' because "it isn't just an area to be quiet, but a place to feel safe and welcome". They asked the children in the school to create signs for this area which will be displayed in the area.

Update: Due to the building work, the Sanctuary Area relaunch has been delayed. The Global Ambassadors will be meeting with Mrs McPhee to discuss researching funding to rec=develop the whole area.

Over the last 2 years, the Global Ambassadors have been working hard to create a Welcome Booklet for new arrivals to Newlands Primary School. Their work is now complete and all new children who start after the initial induction in Year R will be given a Welcome Booklet to help support them to become familiar with our fabulous school.
