School Uniform at Newlands
We believe that a school uniform is important:
We ask that all children wear our uniform and encourage them to maintain a good standard of clean and tidy dress in school. Our uniform is designed to be practical, maintainable and good value for money.
We have our royal blue school uniform jumpers and cardigans which are available from MACPAC, our online uniform suppliers (see link below). Alternatively plain royal blue jumpers or sweatshirts can be worn.
The rest of our uniform can be purchased from any uniform supplier or very cheaply from supermarkets. We ask for white or pale blue polo tops or shirts and black or grey trousers, skirts or shorts. We also allow blue and white checked school dresses.
Shoes should be black or dark in colour and practical for school - no heels, flip flops or open toe sandals.
Hair accessories such as slides, ribbons bobbles, etc, should be fairly simple and if possible in school colours.
Parents are asked to ensure that all items are labelled clearly with their child’s name.
For safety reasons we ask that the children do not wear jewellery in school
For health reasons it is important that children are properly dressed for physical activity. We have a PE uniform/kit. Again all items should be named.
We aim for our uniform policy to be as inclusive as possible and encourage parents/carers to contact us if they have any questions around uniform or difficulties in providing uniform.
We encourage parents to donate clean and good quality uniform back to the school if a child has grown out of it. We regularly hold second hand uniform sales, or provide second hand uniform to families who request help from us. In some cases we can signpost uniform grants too.
PE Uniform
In order to save precious PE time, all children must wear their PE UNIFORM into school for PE days:
