• Year 6 girls - Women in Engineering Day

  To celebrate Women in Engineering Day, our Year 6 girls were invited to Leonardo factory in Millbrook. They are part of a multinational company that makes products for defence and space industries among other things. At Southampton they make cameras for night vision and other specialist purposes.

  Our girls were given a tour of parts of the facility and then had workshops where they designed and tested model rockets and parachutes. They then had the opportunity to test their models outside.

  Our thanks to Leonardo for organising this fantastic day to encourage girls to consider future careers in engineering.
